RT Socket is a protocol used by CMS to push the data to third-party applications. If our application needs to talk to CMS for real-time data, then CMS must have RT Socket configured in it. It is a connector that may or may not come with CMS. If CMS doesn’t have RT Socket in it, we need to download it from Avaya and then install it. For more info, refer this link https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/101037075
Few things that we need to know before installing RT Socket are,
- We must have root user access to the CMS machine.
- We need to take a backup of the whole system before installation so that if in case anything goes wrong while installing this add-on it will be helpful to recover our existing CMS instance.
- Before installing any connectors, we need to check if the WebLM interface is already installed with appropriate license files. To check the list of license file names, run the command.
- Cd /export/home/pserv/weblm/
- If the directory doesn’t exist, then we need to install the WebLM interface first.
